Also known as far-sightedness: you can’t see sharp closeby. Your eyes focus better on distant objects than on nearby ones. This can be corrected with glasses, contact lenses and laser treatment.
Everyone experiences vision changes with age. Suffering from far-sightedness when you are over 50 is so common that we don’t really regard this as a disability. Until you lose your reading glasses.
Text in small print in poor light becomes harder and harder to read. Ingredients on food packaging, manuals with electric devices. They become impossible to read without good light and reading glasses.
In web design we can help by using a font size of 16 pixels and larger and good colour contrast between text and background.
